Overview
I am a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, a CADC-II (Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor) with over 17 years of professional experience in addiction and recovery, a Certified Specialist in Anger Management, and a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional.
I believe that building a rapport is the most important aspect of the therapeutic connection between therapist and patient. I use a humanistic and cognitive-behavioral model that puts the patient first and includes CBT, ACT, IPT, relapse prevention, and motivational interviewing.
I have worked with an array of patients from adolescents to elderly to those in the foster care system, corrections and justice system, detox, residential and outpatient centers, private practice settings, and in-home care.
I currently work with adults, first responders, law enforcement, and with those suffering from chronic pain, addiction, depression, anxiety, grief, mental and emotional disturbances, change of life transitions, relationship problems, intra and interpersonal issues, trauma, anger, and just every day stresses! Our office also conducts independent comprehensive DUI assessment and court-ordered evaluations.
I have experience delivering evidenced-based therapies in individual and group therapy, including providing individual short-term and long-term psychotherapy, diagnosis, and treatment planning. As a psychologist, my passion lies in helping individuals navigate life's challenges and facilitating their journey towards growth and healing.
I believe in the power of therapy to foster self-awareness, resilience, and meaningful change. It is an honor to walk alongside my patients as they explore their emotions, thoughts, and experiences in a safe and supportive environment. I am fully committed to providing services that affirm the dignity, worth, and value of all individuals. I am dedicated to promoting an environment of respect and appreciation for the race, color, ethnicity, religion, sex, national origin, age, ancestry, physicalmental ability, sexual orientation, marital status, parental status, gender identity, gender expression, and socioeconomic status of all persons. I believe in creating an atmosphere of openness, trust, respect, and safety where diverse attitudes, beliefs, values, and behaviors can be explored and discussed.
Mental health concerns are often affected by social forces in the environment related to power and privilege such as racism, sexism, classism, homophobia, heterosexism, and other forms of marginalization and oppression. My practice fully embraces providing high quality, diverse, and multi-culturally sensitive services that affirm the dignity, worth and value of all individuals.
