Pacific Coast Psychological Associates
Dr. James Noftle, Ed.D./M.A./M.Ed.
Prior to becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist, I was a public school teacher, middle school counselor, assistant principal, and university professor. I have a comprehensive understanding of child and adolescent development. My expertise in counseling includes working with adolescents, families, and couples. I used evidence-based practices in therapy and build an alliance with each client. My clients feel valued, supported, and encouraged.
Additionally, I work with couples experiencing infidelity and marital conflict. I use the Gottman Model and work to restore harmony and improved communication. I utilize a variety of strategies and activities that provide meaning and knowledge of how the relationship got off track and what needs to be accomplished to get it back "on-track". My work with premarital couples has been effective as well. I use the Prepare-Enrich Model.
I also have experience with career loss and career transition. My goal is to assist my clients through the process whether it involves job loss or a transition in ones career. Statistics indicate college graduates change careers 7-10 times over the course of a lifetime. Transitions can be difficult and stressful. Having an experienced therapist assist with the process can help.
