Mindful Guidance and Spirituality
Ms. Linda Zahavi, NCC, ATR-BC
I have completed the three year training program in Somatic Experiencing and am a Certified Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP). This method, developed by Dr. Peter Levine, is based in the biological fight/flight/freeze response that is inherent in our nervous system. By tracking, awareness guidance and allowing the body to express itself, incomplete responses to past experiences have a chance to arise. I have also completed long-term trainings in the Hakomi Method, which is a client-centered, mindfulness-based method that also allows layers of body-held emotions and responses to emerge.
I am a Board-Certified, Registered Art Therapist (Master's Degree). This method of working goes well with Somatic Experiencing, and is also helpful for allowing the unconscious to express itself, prompting insight and associations.
I am a Licensed Massage Therapist (Oregon only) #5103 as well as a Reiki Master. This allows us to use bodywork, as appropriate, to access unconscious material. I am also available for Massage Therapy as a service separate from the other services.
I have completed the two levels of EMDR. This method uses eye movements, sound or sensors in your hands to process and desensitive you to material that has been stressful.
I have been working with people since the late 80's, incorporating the modalities described above as well as my long history of Buddhist meditation and spiritual study and practice. I am a Nationally Counselor, Board Certified Art Therapist, Licensed Massage Therapist, Reiki Master, and Somatic Experiencing Practitioner. I offer a compassionate, eclectic, individualized approach that may be just what you have been seeking. Please call me today to further discuss your needs. 503-231-8895.
