Life can hand out many challenges and road blocks that may seem difficult to overcome; however, with the appropriate tools of support and guidance, everyone can rise above these challenges and live a meaningful and fulfilling life.

Kate Krieg believes that an approach based upon communication, and gentle guidance assists her clients in developing the necessary skills to achieve their personal and life goals. Her clients gain an awareness about themselves that helps them acquire the confidence and knowledge needed in order to grow into the person they hope to become.

Kate has extensive experience assisting and guiding individuals of all ages, from children to seniors. She has worked for many years as a Counselor and Director of Social Services. She has helped youths and families overcome various life challenges, such as: family difficulties, behavioral issues, end-of-life issues, grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and substance abuse. She also has a strong understanding of the effects of divorce, the changes that take place in a blended family, as well as health and wellness issues.

At Foundations Counseling, Kate Krieg works with people who seek counseling for a variety of reasons including:

  • Child and Teen —depression, anxiety, criminal behavior, self-harm, self-esteem issues, defiance and parental conflict problems, school issues, abandonment issues
  • Health and Wellness —self-esteem, obesity and weight loss, depression, stress, anxiety, mindfulness, drug and alcohol abuse and addiction recovery, grief and loss, anger management
  • Relationship and Family Issues —couples and marriage counseling, unresolved conflict and conflict resolution, affair recovery, co-dependency, divorce, couples communication, codependency, attachment issues, pre-marriage counseling, pre-engagement counseling, families dealing with terminal illness, families dealing with developmental disabilities
  • Life Transitions —end-of-life issues, grief and loss, career challenges and transitions, life transitions, spirituality and faith, stage of life issues

Kate's therapeutic focus with her clients is working on empowering, forgiving, healing, and moving forward in a positive environment.

Kate received her Master of Arts in Counseling from Argosy University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Iowa. Kate is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC). She has worked in a variety of environments including outpatient clinics, nursing and rehabilitation facilities, and residential treatment centers. She also has extensive experience working with families with end-of-life care and terminal illnesses.
