Florence Rosiello, PhD, Psychotherapist/Couples Counselor
Florence Rosiello, Ph.D
Most of my work is with people who have difficulty in relationships, either feeling too emotionally alone in their relationships or too merged. My strength lies in helping people find a place where they can be in intimate relationships and not emotionally lose themselves or emotionally overwhelm their loved ones.
While most of my practice is made up of individuals, I also see couples who are working to stay together or who need to separate in a meaningful way. My preferred method of practicing depends on whom I'm working with, but for most people I use the Relational Approach to psychotherapy. The Relational Approach focuses on relationships in an attempt to make them intimate, or to create more healthy dynamics for a more functional home or work life.
My book on 'intimacy' (2000) "Deepening Intimacy in Psychotherapy" published by Jason Aronson, Pub., discusses much of my work and provides clinical examples. Many of my clients are dealing with sexual issues/abuse, some are in recovery from substance abuse or from an addiction to a painful relationship. Many clients are focused on loss, feelings of abandonment, or intense emotions and memories of shame. In my work, I focus on helping the client work through their issues so that they can find resolution and emotional peace in their everyday life.
Currently, I am President of the Arizona Psychoanalytic Society, as well as Co-Founder and Co-Chair of the Program Committee. arizonapsychoanalyticsociety.com

My focus in psychotherapy is on relationships. Also, working with a client means understanding and feeling what the client needs, as well as taking into account the client's personality. Therapy should be client-focused, empathic, and tailored specifically to the client. My training is in psychotherapy and I am a certified psychotherapist, couples counselor, and psychoanalyst from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, NYC. Certification: 1988.
