Patricia McMahon, PsyD Patricia McMahon
I work with each client as an individual, from a generalist view informed by psychodynamic theory. In this way you and I collalborate to consider your life and identity as the context in which particular problems arise. I have studied and trained in a variety of settings and have experience helping people with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, cultural adjustment for internationals or expats returning to the US, military veterans and their partners or adult children, transitions and indecisions (eg. resulting from loss, geographical relocation, graduation, career or job change), issues resulting from sexual and other physical or psychological traumas. Military veterans should note that I am not a TriCare provider nor am I affiliated with the government or any branch of the military. Sometimes individuals work with me without a specific problem, that is, they wish to enrich their lives, to reach potentials in relationship or career that are elusive.
The best way to decide if you might like to work with me is to contact me by telephone. We can talk about the reasons you are calling, you can ask me any questions that you have, and I can assess if my training and skills may be helpful to you. The next step is to schedule an initial appointment. Should you decide to work with me, we will decide together on the most appropriate meeting frequency.
