Alex Afram, Ph.D. - Psychologist
Alex Afram, Ph.D.

My goal, as your therapist, is to create an atmosphere of warmth and non-judgment, where you can look at your life experiences with curiosity and compassion for the challenges you have faced. I will help you to understand how your past connects to your present concerns, and to notice patterns of behavior that may be preventing you from fully meeting your needs. Through ongoing feedback and guidance I will help you engage in the courageous process of breaking out of old habits and taking steps towards creating the life for yourself that you want.

My approach is interactive and collaborative--you are the expert on yourself and your lived experiences, while I draw on my clinical experience to help you listen to your emotions about what it is you are truly needing and to chart a course that is in tune with your values and desires.

It is not always easy to seek help and I have great respect for those who come to therapy in the hopes of improving their well-being. To help facilitate the often anxiety-provoking step of reaching out I have created a website, www.therapyclarity.com, to help people learn more about the process of therapy and how it can benefit them; I invite you to explore it.

My office is located near the Dupont Circle, Farragut West, and Farragut North metro stations. I offer daytime and evening appointments and am currently accepting new people into my practice. For convenience, you can schedule a free phone consultation by clicking here. I hope to hear from you!
