Foundations Counseling, LLC
Dr. Ray Robinson, M.A., Psy.D., CISM
Acknowledging that you need help and seeking out a counselor takes bravery and resolve. You are taking the first step in what may be the most important experience of your life. In counseling, I will walk alongside you in your pain and help you on your journey to seek hope and healing.
I bring over 15 years of professional counseling experience working with individuals, couples, and families. I have a heart for people struggling with the issues of everyday life, and I offer developmental and instructional interventions as well as encouragement in a caring, therapeutic relationship. If you need a steadying influence during a crisis or help making long-term changes toward a healthier and more productive life, I am here for you.
I hold a Master's Degree in Counseling and a Doctorate in Marriage and Family Therapy.
I have extensive experience and training in helping people deal with traumatic experiences and the many manifestations of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). I am a Level II EMDR Therapist (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), a therapeutic intervention that helps individuals to process traumatic experiences. I also use TFT (Thought Field Therapy), Art Therapy, and Play Therapy to help process trauma.
In addition to my professional training, I bring years of personal experience to my work. I have been married to my wife Karen since 1977 and we have five adult children and two grandchildren. In the past, Karen and I have worked with couples through what we call 'The Heart of Marriage', a weekend seminar that encourages couples to focus on one another and strengthen their relationship so they can weather the storms of life. I enjoy the outdoors, backpacking, rock climbing, rappelling, white water rafting, and fishing.
