Julie Levin, MFT
Is it hard to say "no" or disappoint others? Do you feel like your self-esteem depends on validation from outside? Are you always striving to prove yourself, but never feel quite good enough? Learning to love yourself unconditionally, to know deep in your bones that your worth is not dependent on the approval of others - this is an amazing gift to give yourself. It frees you from the tyranny of your own inner critic and the exhausting work of chasing down praise and running from judgement.
I teach people how to give themselves the love, acceptance, approval and care they've worked endlessly to get from others. This often involves converting a harsh inner critic into an ally. It involves doing kind and loving things for yourself before you feel loving or deserving. And it works.
Change requires courage and support - because pleasing others was likely an important survival strategy when you grew up. I'm happy to support you in working at a pace that's comfortable, taking only the steps you feel ready to take. To learn more, call for a free consultation.

I work with adults who struggle with codependence (people pleasing, difficulty saying "no"), who want to start living more fully and honestly, who want to feel a sense of security and confidence from deep within so they don't have to depend on the approval or support of others.
I offer a monthly group called Strong Boundaries for Kind Women
I work eclectically, integrating Attachment theory (how we shape our behavior to be what our parents needed), with somatic therapy (what is your body telling you?), with Reparenting (learning to give yourself the support and care you need).
