Relationship is a stage in which we re-cast the characters that will now meet our needs. It is always enlightening to learn how our earliest longings are in fact the same longings we have in current intimate relationship. By connecting these dots, we gain freedom from the trap of repetition, so we can be present in reality, communicating clearly and loving purely.

I am an experienced clinician. I have worked successfully with a wide range of patients and keep a diverse practice because I highly value the experience of working with people from different backgrounds and lifestyles. My patient roster reflects this. Over the years I have collaborated with patients to help them gain mastery over issues ranging from anxiety to low self-image to addiction to relationships and many other issues as well. Younger and older patients of both genders and all sexual orientations have spent time in my office diligently working towards their goals.

Why am I feeling like this? How could I be happier? Which choice do I make? Why can't I move on? How do I get "unstuck?" People often seek psychotherapy when they are trying to answer an unresolved question. I believe that you already hold the answers to your questions and it is my role to help you find those answers.

Psychotherapy is rational and accessible. It is not some esoteric, undefinable, mystical process that only some people can grasp, a faith that only converts believe in and others do not. It is a logical process which anyone can understand and follow. There is no reason for anything in a session to be unreasonable or mysterious. On the contrary, in good psychotherapy every step should make complete sense to you, the patient; you may end up in strange territory, but it should be entirely clear to you how you got there.

My view of therapy tends to be nonconventional. I'm more interested in helping people find a meaningful way of approaching their lives than thinking in terms of diagnosis. I focus on growth and change through insight into experience and feelings. I do not do behavioral therapy. If we could think our way out o...
