A fast-paced city like New York subjects us to much stress and anxiety. As individuals, we often try to cope by ignoring our needs while attending to everyone and everything else first. Before we realize it, our emotional, physical and spiritual health has begun to suffer, beginning the downward spiral into ill health: headaches, tension, weight loss, weight gain, heart problems, hyper-tension and a host of other ailments. Take "time out" in a supportive environment to begin your healing process. I provide Psychotherapy and Stress and Anger Management to individuals, families and groups experiencing anxiety, phobias, and mild depression.

If you're looking for a therapist, probably something is not right in your life. Either you're feeling stuck in patterns that no longer serve you well and you just don't know how to get out of them or maybe you're feeling depressed or anxious and there doesn't seem to be an explanation, or you're having problems with career, family or a relationship. In a safe environment with a therapist who can listen and understand in a non-judgmental, empathic yet perceptive and insightful way it is possible to work on these issues. In therapy we can try to understand how you came to be the person you are today, what parts of you no longer fit your image of who you want to be, what you might like to cultivate instead, and the best way to get there.

Why am I feeling like this? How could I be happier? Which choice do I make? Why can't I move on? How do I get "unstuck?" People often seek psychotherapy when they are trying to answer an unresolved question. I believe that you already hold the answers to your questions and it is my role to help you find those answers.

Psychotherapy is rational and accessible. It is not some esoteric, undefinable, mystical process that only some people can grasp, a faith that only converts believe in and others do not. It is a logical process which anyone can understand and follow. There is no reason for anything in a session to be unreasonable or mysterious. On the contrary, in good psychotherapy every step should make complete sense to you, the patient; you may end up in strange territory, but it should be entirely clear to you how you got there.
