If you have a history of depression and anxiety, you no doubt know what it feels like to move through your day as if trudging through a swamp. At worst, there's little desire or motivation or energy, and then when you do climb out of these moods, you see yourself at some point fall back in. You are likely wanting to learn how to gain some permanent ground, to not have your mood rule you, and to just feel better from day to day. If this is what you are after, then I'd like to help.

Psychotherapy is a place where we will work collaboratively to both understand the way in which depression and anxiety arise and get 'stuck,' as well as practice concrete skills in managing these moods. You'll learn to stop being ensnared by these states, and gain freedom and choice in the living of your daily life. And when you start getting 'unstuck,' you'll find you are able to realize goals more easily and directly, in all areas of your life.

You can learn to feel better, and not just from time to time but as something consistent and regular. Depression and anxiety are, with help and support from a therapist and effort on your part, able to be transformed and overcome, something I've seen over and over with those I've worked with. Hope for feeling better is actually a recognition of something real: you can make deep and lasting change.
